Recent Activities
1. Strengthening monitoring of pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturing companies with the aim of strengthening control activities over pharmaceutical manufacturing and selling companies.
2. Strengthening post-marketing surveillance activities to ensure the quality of medicines. Increasing drug sample collection, testing and analysis. Strengthening pharmacovigilance (PV) related activities.
3. Taking action against institutions/individuals who display, store, sell, distribute, manufacture/market substandard medicines, and manufacture and sell unlicensed medicines, as per the prevailing medicines law.
4. To enhance the skills of qualified individuals employed in pharmaceutical manufacturing companies through necessary training. Conduct awareness meetings to increase public awareness to prevent the display, storage, sale, distribution, production and sale of fake, adulterated, unregistered, counterfeit, misbranded medicines.
5. To increase public awareness about buying/selling/using antibiotics as prescribed by a doctor and completing the full course to prevent unnecessary, unreasonable and incomplete use of antibiotics.
